Memo to: Mike Stewart.."We know what you are…we’re just dickering over the price”
Hot off of the local Republican gossip line…. Mike Stewart’s House campaign against the very sharp Attorney, Democrat Grassroots Activist, and political newcomer... Eric Stansell is being run in part by Bob Boston the noted Republican donor, Belle Meade Country Club Board Member, and fundraising wizard. It seems that the boulevard Republican set is all a twitter over the prospect of a Mike Stewart election victory and that he has “conveniently” become a Democrat. Stewart the well-heeled corporate lawyer seems to be someone the BMCC crowd feels that they could “work with” and “is good for business”. As reported widely around Nashville, Stewart is an expert in helping large multi-national corporations avoid paying state taxes and the BMCC crowd finds it just a little amusing that Stewart may put himself into a position to spend the tax dollars paid by those “not smart enough to hire him”. In the opinion of Mudwire.com it is ironic that Stewart makes a living depriving the state of tax revenue and will then be spending those tax dollars collected by the state with reckless abandon if elected. Those on the “Boulevard” have been amused at what can be “sold” to the voters in East Nashville with enough money. Like we said Mikey…. We’re just dickering over the price.
On a side note…. rumor has it that Metro Councilman Mike Jamieson is backing Stewart because he covets a judgeship in his future, but he needs Stewarts office-mates at Waller, Lansden, Dortch & Davis PLLC on his side…. Jamieson is currently at cross-purposes with Attorney James Weaver over at Waller Landsden over Jamieson’s perpetual and inept public chastisements of Weaver in the local print media. Jamieson always seems a bit “ham-handed” and sneaky by using his friends in the press to do his dirty work in the opinion of Mudwire. Will this deep six his opportunity to be a judge in the future??? We shall see…!
PS - Ladies of the 52nd District.........I know many of you (My wife included) think that Eric Stansell is "Eye Candy" with his good looks, etc.......however...As far as Mudwire can tell, he has no current plans for a 2009 calendar.
